On election night we run every US midterm race through Jevlin: one call, 6 search engines, every few minutes from the time polls close. We watch which engine inside it finds each result first. A race scores when an engine's results name the winner of AP's call, after a person has checked that call. This is the provider ranking: who knew first.
Measurement starts in–6:00pm ET on Tue 3 Nov, when the first polls close. Every race reads 0 until then; the last polls close at 1:00am ET.
Median minutes from poll close to finding AP's winner, over called races. Wrong = races where the engine's results named a different candidate.
Ask the data
Answers come only from the measurements on this page, and the dashboard rearranges to show them. Ask doesn't discuss candidates, parties or predictions.

Leaderboard
Over called races only. Minutes from poll close to the first five-minute round whose results named AP's winner. Wrong counts races where an engine's results named a different candidate; it sits beside every row. Tap a column to sort.
"Jevlin, all engines" is the earliest of the six engines from the same calls. Cost is Jevlin's per-call price for one check.
Method
Before the first polls closed, we committed the race list, query wording, engines, polling schedule and scoring rule, and published their SHA-256. We don't change them after; any change is logged publicly with a time.
From each race's poll close, every engine is searched through Jevlin with the same query on the pre-registered schedule, starting every five minutes.
When AP calls a race and our team confirms the call, each engine's first round whose results named the winner is its time. Earlier rounds that named another candidate count as wrong.
We publish whatever the result, whichever engine is fastest.
